This is Lucie. My best friend drew her (vexme.tumblr.com). At first glance, Lucie looks like a typical immoral “gothic/punk/rocker slut.” but you don’t know of Lucie’s past, her aspirations, her morals, what kind of a person she is. Lucie is (a much more extreme version of) me. This is basically my “stay true” tattoo. Like everyone else, I’ve been judged to no end for how I look and who I hang out with, meanwhile no one knows of my dreams or the good I’ve done in my life. The lyrics “in spite of you, I am still here,” are from the song Obstructed View by Rise Against [yes tumblr trolls I know it says “I’m” instead of “I am”- I wanted it that way]. Basically, people are going to hate you no matter how much you try, so you’d might as well be yourself- inside and out. I’m very proud of who I am and where I’m going, and if people don’t like it, they can turn the other way, and I’ll continue to spite them and be happy with myself- including how I dress, act, and who I do it with. In the words of Rich from R&D, “this is basically your ‘fuck you’ tattoo.” <3

It’s so fucking awesome that something I drew now lives and breathes on another person - and what better person than my best fucking friend? The fact it means something so vital and inspiring to her makes me wanna just scream and bleed with happiness. 

Today was absolutely thrilling. It was nice to finally meet you, Lucie. I can already tell you’re going to love your new home <3
